Campers learn fine art concepts, such as color theory, composition, value, and perspective while having fun exploring a variety of different mediums and activities, including painting, drawing, sculpting, arts & crafts and creativity games. Our art camps are designed to teach and develop students overall drawing skills, painting technique and artistic creativity. Campers also have the freedom to work on a painting different from the camp theme. All supplies included.

Description: From the Bridge, to the hills, the bay to the beach, this is a truely beautiful place to call home. Join us as we celebrate our city and our hometown of San Francisco! Draw inspiration from SF's world famous landmarks, sports teams, parks, architecture, amazing skylines, native flora and fauna, cast of interesting characters, and unique culture!

Dogs, cats, bunnies, lizards, hamsters, birds, tarantulas, pot bellied pigs and more! Who are your animal best friends?

The site of San Francisco's Fleet Week also harbors San Francisco's own, Ghirardelli Square, the site of the original Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory. A favorite week for campers and counselors alike, let the many delicious desserts you dream about inspire you!

Urban Wildlife! (Domestic, Wild & Urban Animals)
Description: Living in San Francisco, many of our neighbors are wild. Wild animals, that is! We are surrounded by a plethora of urban wildlife that share the city with us. Raccoons, foxes, coyotes, crows, hawks, hummingbirds, opossums, and more share our urban landscape. We can use art as a means to understand and respect our wild neighbors, and can bring awareness to the many wild creatures that also call San Francisco home.

Adventures in Animation!
Description: Do fantastical stories of superheroes fly through your imagination? Do you fill your notebook with characters and cartoons? Then come join us for a week of cartooning and comics where you will hone your skills and learn tricks and techniques to bring your comic skills to the next level. Learn how to develop your own characters and bring them to life with the magic of animation! Create original stop motion animation and flip books to get your ideas, your creations and your characters moving!

Description: San Francisco's North Beach is famous for it's art, food and Italian Bakeries, and for inspiring generations of artists. Though we may not be able to visit North Beach for Summer Camp this year, we can still draw our inspiration from it's unique character and delectable flavors. Another favorite week of both campers and counselors alike, join us as we celebrate sweets, desserts and other tasty inspiration!

Sci-Fi Channeled! (Sci-Fi & Fantasy)
Description: Let your imagination run wild with us during Science Week as we explore life of the distant past and the science and technology of the future! If you dream about dragons, unicorns, fairies and monsters, robots, outer space from Star Wars to Star Trek, magical worlds in the distant past or the magic of science and technology of far in the future, this is the week for you! Let your imagination run wild with us during Sci-Fi and Fantasy week!

Description: Have you ever wanted to tell your story with drawings and paintings, loved the art of picture books just as much as the story they tell, or wondered what inspires artists to create the art they make? The Choose Your Own Adventure week at camp explores storytelling through art! Learn how to use art to create a visual story, whether you want to paint your own story or someone else's that inspires you!

Description: Express yourself and let your imagination fly during modern art week at Creative IQ! Explore different mediums and methods to create your own contemporary work of modern art! Play with color, texture, shape and line. Get crazy and creative with composition while learning fundamentals of art and design!

Zoo-lander! (Zoo Animals)
Description: Take an adventure to where the wild things are! Draw and learn about lemurs, giraffes, flamingos, penguins, koalas, ant eaters, zebras, tigers, grizzly bears, squirrel monkeys, peacocks, river otters and more! Join us as we sketch and paint our way through the wild! What's your favorite wild animal?

Description: Want to paint in the open air? Come paint with us under the shadow of the Golden Gate! With breathtaking, world-class views of The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and San Francisco Bay to be inspired by and to choose from, Crissy Fields offers the perfect location for painting on site! This is a special opportunity for young artists to paint outdoors where we provide all the supplies and set up so all they have to do is come and paint!
NOTE: The location of our outdoor painting day may change due to the COVID-19 health orders and may be switched to the art studio's backyard. We will update this description as we get closer to the dates and have more information.

From Georgia O'Keefe's flowers, to Hokusai's waves, to Ansel Adams landscapes of Yosemite, artists interpret and convey nature in a wide variety of unique and different ways. Join us as we create art that showcases the inherent beauty you see in nature, as we find inspiration in the natural world and all it's blooming glory!
